Grant overview
Nokia Foundation Fellow grants support innovative and pioneering research projects in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT). The purpose of the grant is to finance innovative ideas, discover new research streams, and explore research gaps around ICT. For successful projects, it is possible to reapply for an extension via the application process. We will focus on exceptional proposals that have the potential to open genuinely new frontiers. Grants are available for projects carried out in Finnish universities. Amount of the grant is 75.000 euros, and the purpose is to finance hiring a doctoral or postdoctoral researcher to work on the project.
How to apply
Nokia Foundation Fellow application
The grant application is submitted and led by a tenured associate or full professor professor as their own project, with a designated researcher involved where appropriate, though such involvement is not required. The professor acts as the director for the research project. Each professor may submit only one application per call. It is a benefit if the project researcher can be named to the application. Proposed financial plan is required to include a detailed breakdown of the use of the grant to the researcher’s salary, overhead costs and possible other expenses.
Please note: You may partially complete an application (save a draft) and continue with it later. The application tool will provide additional instructions for completing the application form.
